Grass Type Dual-Type Chart
This chart shows how much damage a Grass-type move deals to every combination of two defending types. Rows are the first defender type and columns are the second. Each cell gives the damage multiplier: 4 is extremely effective (400%), 2 is super effective (200%), ½ is not very effective (50%), ¼ is highly resistant (25%) and 0 means no effect. Blank cells are normal 1× damage, and the gray diagonal marks a type paired with itself, which is not a valid dual type.

Grass Type Summary
A utility type built on healing and draining, burdened by five weaknesses.
Grass is a utility type rather than a damage type. It provides healing, draining and status support, but it carries five weaknesses — the most of any type — which keeps most Grass-types in supporting or bulky roles instead of top-tier offense.
Grass on offense
Grass-type moves are super effective against Water, Ground and Rock, but a long list of types resists them: Fire, Grass, Poison, Flying, Bug, Dragon and Steel. Moves like Giga Drain, Leaf Storm and Energy Ball are used for their power and side effects rather than their coverage.
Grass on defense
Grass-types are weak to Fire, Ice, Poison, Flying and Bug and resist Water, Electric, Grass and Ground. Five weaknesses is a lot to cover, so most Grass Pokémon lean on a strong secondary type and on their utility — Leech Seed, Spore, Strength Sap — to stay relevant.
Notable Grass-type Pokémon
Well-known Grass-types include Venusaur, Sceptile, Ferrothorn, Rillaboom, Kartana, Tangrowth, Amoonguss and Breloom. They range from fast sweepers to some of the most annoying defensive and support Pokémon in the game.
